Education is Empowerment
Your Support Matters
There are many ways to recognize and support our dynamic, courageous, and inspired nurse leaders.
You can contribute online by making a one-time gift or by designating a recurring gift. By choosing to make monthly or quarterly gifts, you help sustain the Foundation throughout the year and allow us to strengthen future plans.
If you prefer to make your contribution by check, please make your check out to Lois Price Spratlen Foundation and mail it to 1800 James Street, #103, Bellingham, WA 98225.
You can contribute to the Foundation by gifting stock through your broker or, if you are 72 or older, by making a gift that helps you meet your retirement account annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
To initiate either of these gifting methods, please contact us at office@thelois.org. For a stock transfer, we will provide you with the account and DTC numbers you will need. For an RMD, let us know your retirement account company and the amount and date of your gift to ensure it is properly credited.
If these gifts are made directly to the Foundation, you may be able to save on capital gains tax or tax on the amount disbursed from your retirement account. Check with your accountant or retirement account manager to fully understand your tax benefits.
Estate planning is important, and it should not be postponed. Working on your estate plans today ensures your wishes will be fulfilled.
Including a provision for the Foundation will benefit advanced psychiatric nurses for generations to come.
Estate plan or insurance beneficiary designations for the Foundation should be made to the Lois Price Spratlen Scholarship Foundation.
The Lois Price Spratlen Foundation is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity. As such, you may be able to deduct your contributions per the Internal Revenue Code Section 170. The Foundation is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522.
